Collection: Functional Mushrooms

This collection brings together every functional mushroom we sell, from lion's mane to turkey tail. Most come in several forms: powder, capsules or whole dried fruiting bodies.

Mushrooms in this collection

  • Lion's mane (Hericium erinaceus): a white mushroom made of long, soft spines. Capsules, powder and whole dried mushroom.
  • Cordyceps militaris: thin orange fruiting bodies with a mild, slightly sweet taste. Powder and capsules.
  • Chaga (Inonotus obliquus): a growth from living Carpathian birch, finely ground for brewing.
  • Turkey tail (Trametes versicolor): whole dried mushroom or powder.
  • Chanterelles (Cantharellus cibarius): wild mushrooms from Ukrainian forests, as powder and capsules.
  • Stinkhorn (Phallus impudicus): harvested in Ukraine, as powder and capsules.

Powder, capsules or whole mushroom?

Capsules take the least effort: a set amount, nothing to measure. Powder lets you choose the amount and stir it into tea, coffee, cocoa or a smoothie. Whole dried mushrooms are for brewing or simmering in broth.

What the research says

Scientists study the polysaccharides, beta-glucans and other compounds in these mushrooms. Most of that research has been done on cells and animals, so it's too early to talk about any specific effect on the body. We sell these mushrooms as food, not as a treatment or a way to prevent illness. If you're pregnant, breastfeeding or taking medication, talk to your doctor first. Each mushroom's page lists its own warnings.
