Turkey Tail Mushroom Dried Caps
Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor) grows on stumps and fallen hardwood across Europe and North America. You've probably walked past it in the woods: thin, leathery caps banded in grey, brown and bluish tones that fan out like a turkey's tail.
In China and Japan people have brewed it as an herbal drink for centuries. Researchers study its polysaccharides, beta-glucans in particular, and it ranks among the most studied functional mushrooms.
Ingredients: Dried Turkey Tail fruiting bodies.
Storage: keep dry at +5 ℃ to +20 ℃.
Shelf life: 12 months from the drying date.
Contraindications: pregnancy, breastfeeding, individual intolerance to the ingredients. If you take medication, check with your doctor first.
How to Use Turkey Tail
Most people make a drink from it. Pour hot water over 1–2 g of the dried mushroom and let it steep. The fruiting body is tough, so give it more time than regular tea, then strain before drinking.
