How to Use Dried Fly Agaric: Tea, Powder, Capsules

Dried red fly agaric caps (Amanita muscaria) can be used in several forms, from small pieces to drinks and capsules. In this article, we explain how to prepare dried fly agaric in different ways. Before You Start

• Weigh the product accurately. Caps vary in size and weight, so without weighing it's hard to know how much you're using. You'll need jewelry scales.
• Follow the information on the package and don't exceed the amount stated there.
• Don't combine fly agaric with alcohol or drugs that affect the nervous system.

Whole Caps or Pieces

The simplest method: break the weighed amount of cap into small pieces and wash them down with water. If you find the mushroom taste unpleasant, one of the methods below may suit you better.

Drink with Water and Lemon Juice

Cover a crushed cap with a small amount of room-temperature water and add a little lemon juice. Stir before drinking.

Dried Fly Agaric Tea

Grind the cap into a powder, pour hot water over it, let it steep, and strain. You can add honey, sugar, or a slice of lemon or lime. To mask the mushroom taste, mix it with regular green or black tea.

Powder

Dried caps can be ground into a fine powder in a coffee grinder. Powder is easier to weigh and mixes more easily with water or drinks. If you'd rather not grind it yourself, choose our ready-made Amanita muscaria powder.

Capsules

You can fill empty gelatin capsules with the powder. This hides the mushroom taste, and each serving contains the same amount of product. The easiest option is to buy ready-made Amanita muscaria capsules with a fixed amount of powder in each.

How to Store Dried Fly Agaric

Store caps and powder in an airtight container in a dry, dark place at +5 to +15 °C, out of reach of children. Muscimol gradually oxidizes in air, so don't keep an opened package for too long. Capsules are better protected from air.
